Ezekiel 39:27

“Ezekiel 39:27 (KJV): When I have brought them again from the people, and gathered them out of their enemies’ lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations.”

This verse is a part of the prophecy given by the prophet Ezekiel concerning the restoration of Israel after a time of judgment and exile. It reveals God’s plan to gather the people of Israel back to their own land and demonstrate His sanctification among the nations.

Here are some key points to consider in this verse:

Divine Restoration:The verse begins with the phrase, “When I have brought them again from the people.” This refers to God’s intention to restore the Israelites, bringing them back from various nations where they had been scattered due to their disobedience and exile. It signifies a future time when God would intervene to gather His people.

Gathering from Enemies’ Lands:The verse continues, “and gathered them out of their enemies’ lands.” Here, God promises to gather His people from the lands of their enemies. This emphasizes His sovereignty and power to overcome any obstacles that may have kept them scattered and oppressed. It demonstrates His faithfulness to His covenant promises to Israel.

God’s Sanctification:The verse further states, “and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations.” This phrase highlights the purpose behind God’s restoration and gathering of His people. God’s sanctification refers to the process of setting apart a people for Himself, making them holy and distinct. In this context, it suggests that God will demonstrate His holiness and power through His people, causing many nations to recognize His authority and greatness.

Witness to the Nations:The phrase “in the sight of many nations” indicates that the restoration of Israel will serve as a testimony to the surrounding nations. Through the gathering and sanctification of His people, God intends to display His glory and draw the attention of others to His redemptive work. It reveals God’s desire to reveal Himself to the world through His chosen people.

Overall, Ezekiel 39:27 is a verse that speaks of God’s plan to restore and gather His people, demonstrating His sanctification and power among the nations. It highlights God’s faithfulness to His promises and His desire to reveal Himself to the world through His chosen people, Israel.
