Isaiah 66:19

And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those that escape of them unto the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles.

The list of places—Tarshish, Pul, Lud, Tubal, Javan, and the isles afar off—represents the known world: Tarshish likely points to Spain or a distant seaport, Pul (or Put) to Libya, Lud to Lydia, known for its archers, and Tubal and Javan to regions in Asia Minor and Greece. These nations have not heard God’s fame nor seen His glory, underscoring the universal scope of His message.

The survivors are sent to declare God’s glory among the Gentiles. This mission extends beyond Israel to all peoples, fulfilling God’s desire that every nation hear of His greatness and salvation. The verse emphasizes that those who have experienced God’s grace and escaped judgment are entrusted with carrying His message to the ends of the earth.
