Job 36:4

Posted on 18 May at 11:26
Listen to this article

For truely my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge, is with thee. Job 36:4 (KJV)

For truly my words

shall not

be false: he that is perfect in knowledge

is with thee. Job 36:4 (KJV)

Reliability of God’s Words: Elihu begins by asserting the reliability and truthfulness of his words. He states, “For truly my words shall not be false.” He wants Job to understand that his intentions are genuine and that he will speak the truth. Elihu begins by asserting the genuineness of his intentions, stating, “For truly my words shall not be false.”

The Perfection of God’s Knowledge: Elihu then highlights the perfect knowledge possessed by God. He states, “He that is perfect in knowledge is with thee.” The statement, “He that is perfect in knowledge is with thee,” reflects Elihu’s acknowledgment of God’s presence and wisdom. Elihu affirms that God’s understanding is flawless and complete. He acknowledges God’s presence and declares that God possesses this perfect knowledge. Elihu’s intention in emphasizing God’s perfect knowledge is to convey that God’s wisdom and understanding surpass human comprehension. Elihu’s intention is to encourage Job to recognize the greatness and sovereignty of God, and by doing so, find solace and hope in the midst of his suffering.

It is important to note that Elihu’s speeches should be understood in the broader context of the Book of Job. While his words carry some truth, God Himself later intervenes and speaks directly to Job, providing deeper insight and a more complete understanding of the situation. However, while his intentions are sincere, it is important to recognize that his understanding is incomplete compared to the divine perspective revealed later in the book (Job 38-41). While this affirmation is true, Elihu’s interpretation of God’s knowledge and sovereignty should be understood as a human perspective that receives further clarification through God’s direct address. However, his statements about perfect knowledge and divine authority are incomplete and later corrected by God. This emphasizes the limitations of human understanding in comprehending divine wisdom fully.

In the broader context of the Book of Job, Elihu’s speeches offer some truth but ultimately highlight the need for direct divine revelation to provide complete understanding. God’s intervention later in the book serves as a reminder of the limitations of human interpretations and the necessity of seeking divine perspective. Overall, Job 36:4 emphasizes the trustworthiness of God’s words and the perfect knowledge He possesses. It encourages believers to have faith in God’s wisdom and seek comfort in His presence, even during times of hardship and suffering. Overall, Job 36:4 speaks to the importance of trusting in God’s wisdom and presence, even during times of hardship. However, it is essential to approach Elihu’s statements with an awareness of their incomplete nature compared to the fullness of God’s later revelation.
