John 11:14

Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.

Jesus spoke these words to His disciples after receiving news that Lazarus, the brother of Mary and Martha, was sick. He intentionally delayed His arrival, and by the time He reached Bethany, Lazarus had been dead for four days.
