John 8:18

“I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.”

Context:The verse is part of a larger conversation between Jesus and the Pharisees that takes place in the temple courts in Jerusalem. In this discourse, Jesus asserts His identity and authority as the Son of God.

Self-witness of Jesus:In the beginning of the verse, Jesus declares, “I am one that bear witness of myself.” Here, Jesus is highlighting His own testimony and asserting the truth of His identity. He is the primary witness to His divine nature and mission. This claim was often met with scepticism by the religious leaders, as they sought further evidence to support Jesus’ claims.
