Avim is mentioned only here in the Bible, and its precise location is uncertain, though it may be near modern Beitin, about five miles north of Jerusalem. Parah is also mentioned only in this verse, and its exact location is unknown. Ophrah was a town in Benjamin’s territory, later known as the birthplace of Gideon (Judges 6:11). It is distinct from the Ophrah in Manasseh’s territory (Joshua 17:2). These names serve as geographical markers, showing the borders of Benjamin’s allotted land.
