Nehemiah 12:32

And after them went Hoshaiah, and half of the princes of Judah,

Hoshaiah appears only here in Nehemiah. His identity is unknown, but he was likely a leader among the people. The phrase “half of the princes of Judah” shows a deliberate division of leadership. The other half probably accompanied the first company. This arrangement gave both groups equal honor and responsibility.
