Psalms 41:12

And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever.

Context

Psalm 41 is attributed to King David and is a prayer for deliverance from enemies and a plea for God’s mercy. In the preceding verses, David laments betrayal by enemies and a close friend, and he acknowledges his own weakness. Verse 12 is the concluding affirmation of the psalm before the doxology of verse 13.

Meaning

David expresses confidence in God’s faithfulness. He acknowledges that God upholds him in his integrity. Integrity refers to honesty, uprightness, and moral character. David’s confidence rests not in his own perfection but in God’s faithful character. The same God who upheld David invites us to live with integrity and to find our security in His presence, both now and forever.
