Revelation 12:10

Posted on 18 May at 14:20

“And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.”

Revelation 12:10 is a part of the visionary and symbolic language used in the book of Revelation, also known as the Apocalypse. This verse is found in the context of a description of a great cosmic battle between the forces of good and evil. In this particular section, the focus is on the victory of God over Satan and the establishment of His kingdom.

Let’s break down the verse for a deeper understanding:

“And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven”:The speaker in this verse is not explicitly identified, but it is likely an angel or a heavenly being who is announcing a significant event.

“Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ”:This proclamation declares that four important things have come.

  • Salvation: It refers to the redemption and deliverance of believers through Jesus Christ. It signifies the rescue from sin, death, and the power of evil.
  • Strength: This speaks of the power and might of God, which is displayed in the defeat of Satan and the establishment of His reign.
  • The kingdom of our God: This refers to the eternal kingdom of God, which encompasses His rule and authority over all creation. It represents the ultimate victory of God over the forces of evil.
  • The power of his Christ: This emphasizes the authority and sovereignty of Jesus Christ, the Messiah. It signifies His role as the conqueror and Savior, who has the power to defeat Satan.

“For the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night”:Here, the verse reveals that the one who accused the brethren, referring to Satan, has been cast down or defeated. Satan is often described as the accuser who seeks to bring charges against God’s people. However, his accusations are no longer valid, as his power and influence have been overcome by God.

This verse celebrates the triumph of God and the defeat of Satan. It assures believers that salvation, strength, God’s kingdom, and the power of Christ are present and active. It reminds us that the accuser’s accusations hold no weight before God, as our sins have been forgiven through Jesus’ sacrifice.

Overall, Revelation 12:10 encourages believers to place their trust in God’s power and sovereignty, knowing that ultimate victory over evil has been secured through Jesus Christ.
