“Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin”

Certainly! Let’s dive into a Bible study on 1 Peter 4:1, using the King James Version (KJV) translation:

The book of 1 Peter was written by the apostle Peter, addressing Christians who were undergoing persecution and facing various trials. In this particular verse, Peter encourages believers to have a mindset similar to that of Christ, who suffered in the flesh.

  • Context:First, let’s understand the context of this verse.
  • Christ’s suffering:Peter reminds believers that Christ suffered for us in the flesh.
  • Arm yourselves:Peter urges believers to arm themselves with the same mind or attitude that Christ had during His suffering.
  • Ceasing from sin:The verse concludes by stating that he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin.
