2 Chronicles 4 describes the construction and furnishings of the temple that King Solomon built in Jerusalem. The chapter begins with the creation of a bronze altar, which was large and intricately designed. Next, Solomon made a large bronze Sea, also known as the Brazen Sea, which was used for ritual purification. The Sea was supported by twelve oxen and could hold a vast amount of water.
Solomon then crafted ten smaller basins, five on the right and five on the left, to wash the various items used in the temple. He also made various utensils, including golden candlesticks, tables, and basins.
The chapter concludes by mentioning the construction of the court, the doors of the temple, and the pillars named Jachin and Boaz. The doors were covered in gold, and the pillars were adorned with intricate designs and were positioned at the entrance of the temple.
