Hebrews 11:23

By faith; Moses when hee was borne was hid three moneths of his parents, because they saw he was a proper childe, and they not afraid of the Kings commandement. Hebrews 11:23 (KJV)

The verse states that Moses’ parents, by faith, hid him for three months because they believed God would protect him despite Pharaoh’s decree to kill Hebrew infants. Their faith is shown in their refusal to obey the king’s command, their determination to preserve their child, and their sense that Moses was a special child in God’s hands.

This lack of fear of the king’s commandment demonstrates their unwavering trust in God’s protection and provision. They were willing to face the possible consequences of disobedience, confident in God’s faithfulness and sovereignty.

Second, God rewards those who trust Him; He protected Moses and later used him mightily to deliver Israel. Third, faith overcomes fear; the parents placed their confidence in God rather than being intimidated by the king’s authority. Fourth, faith can impact future generations, as Moses grew to become one of Israel’s greatest leaders, his character shaped by his parents’ trust in God. Overall, this verse reminds believers of the power of faith and the blessings that follow trusting God even amid difficult circumstances.
