Acts 18:10

“For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.”

Divine Assurance:In this verse, the Lord appeared to Paul in a vision, providing him with encouragement and assurance of His presence and protection. The Lord’s words to Paul highlight three key aspects:

a. Divine Presence: “For I am with thee.” God assured Paul of His personal presence. This promise of God’s companionship would have been a great source of strength and comfort for Paul, especially in the face of opposition and challenges.

b. Divine Protection: “No man shall set on thee to hurt thee.” God promised to shield Paul from harm. This assurance was significant because Paul faced opposition and persecution during his ministry. By promising protection, God was assuring Paul that no harm would befall him as he carried out his mission.

c. Divine Purpose: “For I have much people in this city.” God revealed to Paul that He had a significant number of people in Corinth who were ready to receive the Gospel and be part of His kingdom. This statement underscores God’s sovereign plan and purpose in sending Paul to Corinth.

Application:

• Trust in God’s Presence:Like Paul, we can find comfort in knowing that God is always with us. He never leaves nor forsakes His children (Hebrews 13:5). In times of difficulty or uncertainty, we can draw strength from the assurance of His abiding presence.
• Depend on God’s Protection:Just as God promised Paul protection, we can trust in God’s faithfulness to safeguard us. This doesn’t mean that we won’t face challenges or trials, but God’s protection ensures that no harm can ultimately separate us from His love (Romans 8:38-39).
• Embrace God’s Purpose:Recognize that God has a purpose for each of us. Just as Paul was sent to Corinth with a specific mission, we, too, have a unique role to fulfill in God’s plan. We should seek to be sensitive to His leading and obediently follow His guidance.

In Acts 18:10, we witness God’s faithfulness in assuring Paul of His presence, protection, and purpose. This verse serves as a reminder for us to trust in God’s promises, rely on His strength, and faithfully fulfill the purposes He has for our lives.
