Daniel 6:22

“My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.”

In this verse, we find Daniel speaking to King Darius after being miraculously delivered from the den of lions. This event occurred because of the jealousy of other officials who sought to find fault with Daniel’s faithfulness to God and his excellent service to the king.

God’s Intervention:Daniel recognizes that his deliverance from harm is a result of God’s intervention. He attributes his rescue to the work of God’s angel, who shut the mouths of the lions and prevented them from causing him any harm. This highlights the power and sovereignty of God over creation, including the ability to protect and rescue His faithful servants.

Innocence and Integrity:Daniel declares his innocence before both God and the king. He states that “innocency was found in me” and affirms that he has not done any harm either to God or to the king. Daniel’s steadfast devotion to God and his impeccable character are evident throughout the book of Daniel. His commitment to prayer and his refusal to compromise his faith despite facing persecution demonstrate his unwavering integrity.

God’s Favor:The fact that Daniel was found innocent before God and the king emphasizes the divine favor he enjoyed. Daniel’s faithfulness and trust in God resulted in his divine protection and favor. This serves as a reminder that when we remain faithful to God and live with integrity, He can grant us favor and protection even in the face of adversity.

Daniel’s story in the lion’s den not only demonstrates God’s miraculous intervention and Daniel’s unwavering faith but also serves as a powerful testimony of God’s faithfulness to His people. It encourages us to trust in God, maintain our integrity, and rely on His divine intervention in our lives, knowing that He is capable of delivering us from any challenge or trial we may face.
