Esther 4:6

“So Hatach went forth to Mordecai unto the street of the city, which was before the king’s gate.”

Historical Background: The book of Esther is set during the time when the Jews were in exile in Persia. King Ahasuerus (also known as Xerxes I) ruled over a vast empire, and Queen Vashti was deposed for disobedience. Esther, a Jewish girl, was chosen as the new queen without revealing her true identity. Haman, an influential official, sought to destroy all the Jews in the kingdom.
