Isaiah 19:14

The Lord hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit.

“They have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof” shows the result: the people, especially their leaders, become misguided in all their actions. The judgment is comprehensive, affecting every work. This divine intervention underscores that when a nation turns from God, He can withdraw sound wisdom and allow error to prevail.

The simile “as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit” vividly portrays total disorientation, helplessness, and shame.
