Jeremiah 10:18

Context:

Jeremiah 10 is part of a section in the book of Jeremiah where the prophet addresses the idolatry of the people of Judah. In this chapter, Jeremiah condemns the making and worshiping of idols, describing their uselessness and emphasizing that God alone is the true and living God.

God’s Judgment:

In verse 18, God declares His judgment against the inhabitants of the land. He says He will “sling out” the people of the land, which implies a forceful and swift removal. This indicates that God’s judgment will come suddenly and with great power. The phrase “at this once” emphasizes the immediacy of the judgment, indicating that it will happen without delay.

Distress as a Means of Correction:
