Nor to build houses for us to dwell in: neither have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed:

Context

Jeremiah brought them into the house of the Lord, placed cups of wine before them, and invited them to drink, but they refused.

This was not a temporary circumstance but a deliberate, ongoing obedience to a family rule.
