Luke 2:52 concludes the account of the twelve-year-old Jesus in the temple, where He listened to and questioned the teachers, showing early understanding of the Scriptures. Meaning

The Greek word translated “increased” (proekopten) implies progressive advancement. Jesus did not merely appear to grow; He truly advanced in wisdom and stature. As the Son of God, He possessed divine wisdom from eternity, yet in His humanity He acquired knowledge, understanding, and practical wisdom through normal human development. His physical growth was equally real, as He matured from infancy through childhood to adulthood.

The verse also says Jesus increased in favour with God and man. His obedience, devotion, and sinlessness sustained a perfect relationship with the Father, while His love, compassion, and humility drew people to Him.
