Jesus takes him aside privately, touches his ears and tongue, and speaks the word “Ephphatha,” which means “Be opened.” Instantly, the man’s ears are opened, and his tongue is loosened, allowing him to hear and speak clearly.

Jesus’ instruction:In verse 36, Jesus charges those who witnessed the miracle not to tell anyone about it. The term “charged” emphasizes the seriousness and urgency with which Jesus delivers this instruction. • b. Distraction:Jesus’ primary purpose was not simply to perform miracles but to teach about the Kingdom of God, demonstrate God’s love, and offer salvation. He wanted people to focus on His teachings rather than being solely attracted by signs and wonders.
• c. Opposition:Publicizing miracles too early could have drawn the attention of religious authorities and political leaders, who might have viewed Jesus as a threat. It would have hastened the conflicts that eventually led to His crucifixion.

• Obedience:The disciples were enthusiastic about sharing the news of Jesus’ miracles, but they failed to obey His instructions fully. It reminds us of the importance of obeying God’s commands, even when they might be contrary to our desires or instincts.
• God’s timing:Jesus had a divine plan, and He knew the perfect time for His mission to unfold. In our lives, we should trust in God’s timing, even when it doesn’t align with our expectations. He sees the bigger picture and knows what is best for us.
