Context
Jesus spoke these words to His disciples after they expressed astonishment at His teaching about the difficulty of a rich person entering the kingdom of heaven. He had just told them that it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter God’s kingdom. The disciples, amazed, asked, “Who then can be saved?” Jesus responded by looking at them and declaring the truth recorded in Matthew 19:26.
