Nehemiah 7:5

“And my God put into mine heart to gather together the nobles, and the rulers, and the people, that they might be reckoned by genealogy. And I found a register of the genealogy of them which came up at the first, and found written therein,”

Context:The book of Nehemiah is a historical account that follows the Israelites’ return from exile in Babylon to Jerusalem. Understanding our family history and the faith of our ancestors can provide a sense of connection, identity, and gratitude for the work of God in our lives.
• Faithful Record-Keeping:The preservation of historical records was important to the Israelites. As believers, we should also strive to preserve and pass down the testimonies of God’s faithfulness in our lives and in the lives of our communities, so

that future generations can be encouraged and inspired.
