Psalms 103:8
The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

Context
Psalm 103 is a hymn of praise and thanksgiving. The psalmist looks back on God’s goodness and thanks Him for forgiveness, healing, redemption, and loving-kindness. This verse sits at the center of that praise, declaring who God is and why He deserves worship.
Meaning

The Hebrew word behind “mercy” carries the idea of covenant loyalty and steadfast love. God’s mercy is not mere pity; it is a faithful, binding love that He keeps toward His people. This same description appears in Psalm 145:8, which says the Lord is gracious, merciful, slow to anger, and great in lovingkindness. Application
