Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

Context

Psalm 127 is a wisdom psalm attributed to King Solomon. It is one of the Songs of Ascents, which pilgrims sang as they traveled up to Jerusalem for the annual feasts.
