Psalms 71:24

Posted on 18 May at 15:15

“My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt.”

Certainly! Here is a Bible study on Psalm 71:24 in the King James Version:

Psalm 71:24 (KJV) says: “My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt.”

1. Context:

Context:Psalm 71 is attributed to David and is a prayer for deliverance and protection from enemies. It is a psalm of trust and confidence in God’s faithfulness.

2. Reflecting on God’s righteousness:

Reflecting on God’s righteousness:In this verse, the psalmist expresses his commitment to continually talk about God’s righteousness. The psalmist recognizes that God is just and righteous in all His ways, and he desires to proclaim this attribute of God throughout the day.

3. Witnessing the downfall of enemies:

Witnessing the downfall of enemies:The psalmist further states that those who seek to harm him will be confounded and brought to shame. Here, the psalmist finds confidence in God’s justice, knowing that his enemies will not prevail in their evil intentions.

4. Application of the verse:

Application of the verse:As believers, we can learn from this verse to continually speak of God’s righteousness and goodness in our lives. Even in the face of adversity, we can trust that God will vindicate us and bring down those who seek to harm us. We should take comfort in God’s justice and rely on Him to defend us.

5. Praising God’s righteousness:

Praising God’s righteousness:This verse also highlights the importance of praising and worshiping God. When we speak of God’s righteousness and declare His goodness, we uplift His name and bring glory to Him. Our testimony of God’s righteousness can serve as an encouragement to others and a witness to His faithfulness.

6. Living a life of gratitude:

Living a life of gratitude:Considering the psalmist’s commitment to talk about God’s righteousness all day long, we can be reminded of the importance of gratitude in our lives. Expressing gratitude for God’s righteousness, provision, and protection can transform our perspective and strengthen our faith.
