Arise, O Lord; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in thy sight.

Context
Psalm 9 is a thanksgiving psalm, praising God for His righteous judgment and deliverance. This verse comes near the end, where the psalmist turns from praise to an urgent plea for God to act against the wicked.
Meaning
The cry “Arise, O LORD” is a common biblical way of asking God to take action. It admits that human strength is not enough and that only God can bring true justice. The phrase “let not man prevail” asks God to stop the plans of wicked people who oppress others. The word “heathen” refers to nations or people who do not know or follow the God of Israel.
