Revelation 1:15
“And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.”
This verse provides us with two distinct aspects of Jesus’ appearance: the description of his feet and his voice.
Feet like unto fine brass:The mention of Jesus’ feet being like fine brass symbolizes strength, firmness, and stability. Brass is a durable metal that can withstand intense heat. The imagery of burning in a furnace suggests purification and refinement. It signifies the divine authority and judgment of Jesus, who stands with unwavering strength and righteousness.
Voice as the sound of many waters:The description of Jesus’ voice as the sound of many waters signifies its power and authority. Just as the roar of rushing waters commands attention and inspires awe, Jesus’ voice possesses unmatched authority. It denotes the magnitude and sovereignty of his words. Throughout the Bible, water is often associated with life and cleansing, implying that Jesus’ words bring spiritual renewal and purification.
Overall, these descriptions highlight the majestic and awe-inspiring nature of Jesus Christ. The passage portrays him as the ultimate authority and judge, one whose words have the power to purify and renew. It emphasises his divine strength, stability, and unyielding righteousness.
It is important to note that Revelation is highly symbolic and should be approached with care.
