Revelation 19:5

Posted on 18 May at 14:19
Listen to this article

“And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.”

Context:The book of Revelation, written by the apostle John, is a prophetic vision that unveils future events related to the end times and the return of Jesus Christ. In Revelation 19, the focus is on the second coming of Christ and the final victory over evil.

The voice from the throne:In this verse, John hears a voice emanating from the throne, which symbolizes the authority and sovereignty of God. The voice calls upon all God’s servants and those who fear Him, both small and great, to praise Him.

Praise our God:The voice from the throne instructs all God’s servants to praise Him. Praise is an act of adoration, thanksgiving, and celebration directed towards God. It acknowledges His greatness, power, and faithfulness.

All His servants:The call to praise is addressed to all of God’s servants. In a broader sense, this includes all believers, both in heaven and on earth. As followers of God, we are called to worship and praise Him for His attributes and works.

Those who fear Him:Alongside His servants, the voice from the throne also invites those who fear God to join in praise. Fearing God does not imply being afraid but rather having a reverent awe and deep respect for His holiness and authority.

Both small and great:The invitation to praise God is extended to everyone, regardless of their status or position. It includes people of all backgrounds, ages, and social standing. God’s invitation to worship is all‑encompassing, demonstrating His inclusivity and love for all His creation.

Application:Revelation 19:5 teaches us the importance of praise and worship in our relationship with God. It reminds us that praise is not limited to specific circumstances or certain groups of people. It is a universal call for all believers to honor and exalt God.

As we study this verse, we should consider how we can incorporate praise into our daily lives. Whether through prayer, song, or acts of service, we can express our gratitude and adoration to God. Additionally, this verse encourages unity among believers, reminding us that worship is a communal activity where people from all walks of life can join together in exalting God.

In summary, Revelation 19:5 highlights the call to praise God that comes from the voice on the throne. It invites all of God’s servants, as well as those who fear Him, both small and great, to participate in worship and adoration. May we respond to this invitation by continually praising and honoring our Almighty God in our lives.
