Revelation 5:14

And the foure beasts said, Amen. And the foure and twenty Elders fell downe and worshipped him that liueth for euer and euer. Revelation 5:14 (KJV)

The familiar proclamation of God’s love found in John 3:16—“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”—serves as a foundational truth that undergirds the entire biblical narrative. This declaration of divine love and the promise of eternal life is echoed throughout Scripture and finds a resonant echo in the worship scene of Revelation.

According to one source, the Book of Revelation contains twenty‑two chapters, concluding with verse 22:21, which reads, “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.” Within that same framework, Revelation 5:14 is presented in the King James Version as the verse quoted above, describing the four beasts and the twenty‑four elders falling down in worship of the One who lives forever. This vivid image of universal adoration highlights the ultimate fulfillment of the love expressed in John 3:16, as all creation turns its focus toward the eternal One.

Conversely, another perspective notes that the King James Version does not contain a verse numbered Revelation 5:14, asserting that the book ends at chapter 22, verse 21, and that no such passage appears in the traditional KJV text. This observation points to a discrepancy that can arise from variations in manuscript traditions, translations, or typographical errors in secondary sources.

Both observations underscore the importance of careful textual study. While the verse quoted above captures the spirit of worship and the acknowledgment of God’s everlasting presence, readers are reminded to verify citations against reliable biblical editions. Whether one encounters the verse in a particular edition or not, the theological thrust remains clear: the eternal God, whose love is proclaimed in John 3:16, receives worship from every creature, affirming the promise of everlasting life for all who believe.
