On the way to the ruler’s house, a woman who had been suffering from a discharge of blood for twelve years approached Jesus from behind and touched the fringe of His garment, believing that by doing so, she would be healed. Jesus, perceiving her faith, turned around and told her that her faith had made her well. From that moment, the woman was healed of her affliction.
After this encounter, Jesus and His disciples continued on to the ruler’s house. Upon arriving, they encountered a crowd of people mourning and wailing loudly. Jesus assured them that the girl was not dead but sleeping. However, the people ridiculed Him.
