Colossians 2:7

“Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.”

Abounding with Thanksgiving:The verse concludes with the exhortation to abound in thanksgiving. Gratitude is a natural response to the grace and blessings received from God. When believers are rooted in Christ, built up in their faith, and established in the truth, it leads to a life of gratitude. • Deepen our roots in Christ:Just as a plant needs strong roots to grow, we need to cultivate a deep relationship with Jesus. This involves spending time in prayer, studying the Word of God, and seeking His presence in our lives.
• Continually grow in our faith:We should never be stagnant in our spiritual journey. We must actively seek growth and development in our understanding of God’s Word, His character, and His purposes for our lives. This can be achieved through Bible study, fellowship with other believers, and discipleship.
• Guard against false teachings:Paul’s concern in writing this letter was to combat false teachings that were infiltrating the church. Similarly, we need to be discerning and cautious about the teachings we encounter. We should compare everything to the truth of Scripture and seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit to discern what is true.
• Cultivate a heart of gratitude:Thankfulness should be a hallmark of the believer’s life. As we reflect on the blessings we have received from God, both spiritual and material, let us abound with gratitude and offer our thanks to Him in all circumstances.
