Jeremiah Chapter 11

Summery

Jeremiah 11 contains a message from God to the people of Judah. God instructs Jeremiah to tell the people to uphold their covenant with Him and obey His commandments. The chapter begins with a reference to the covenant made between God and their ancestors when He brought them out of Egypt. However, the people have turned away from God and worshiped other gods.

God warns the people that He will bring disaster upon them if they continue in their disobedience. Their pleas for help will go unanswered, as they have forsaken Him and turned to idols. The chapter also mentions a conspiracy among the men of Anathoth, Jeremiah’s hometown, who plan to kill him. God promises to punish them for their wickedness.

The chapter ends with Jeremiah pleading for justice against his enemies and asking God to take vengeance on them. He places his trust in God’s righteous judgment.
