“Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses.”

Context:This verse is part of Psalm 107, a psalm that celebrates the steadfast love and faithfulness of God.

The psalm recounts various situations in which people faced distress and cried out to the Lord, and He delivered them.

In Psalm 107:19, the psalmist highlights a particular scenario where individuals find themselves in trouble and distress.

When they cry out to the Lord, He responds by saving them.

This verse reveals God’s compassionate nature and His willingness to come to the aid of those who seek Him in times of trouble.

Cry unto the LORD:The psalmist emphasizes the importance of turning to God in times of trouble.

It reflects the act of calling out to God, acknowledging one’s need for His intervention.

Trouble and distress:The psalmist recognizes that life brings challenges and difficulties.

We all experience times of trouble and distress, whether they are physical, emotional, or spiritual.

Salvation and deliverance:The psalmist affirms that when people cry out to the Lord in their distress, He saves them.

God’s salvation encompasses both spiritual and temporal aspects.

He rescues His people from their troubles, providing them with comfort, deliverance, and restoration.
