Context

Meaning

David says it is before his eyes, meaning he keeps it constantly in view. He is consciously aware of God’s character and is persuaded of his share in it.
David then declares, “I have walked in thy truth.” To walk in God’s truth means to live according to His Word and to follow His commands. It is a life of obedience and integrity. David’s conduct is a response to God’s character. Because God’s goodness is before him, he walks in the truth that God commands. One interpretation is that because God’s goodness has been before his eyes, he has restrained wicked lusts and avoided retaliation.
