Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee: in whose heart are the wayes of them: Psalms 84:5 (KJV)

Blessed

is the man whose strength

is in thee; in whose heart

are the ways

of them. Psalms 84:5 (KJV)

Psalm 84 is a psalm of the sons of Korah, expressing a deep longing for the presence of God and the delight found in worshiping Him. The psalmist voices a strong desire to dwell in God’s house and praises the blessings that flow from a close relationship with the Lord.

“Blessed is the man” opens the passage with a clear declaration of blessedness. It points to the happiness and joy that belong to the person who finds his strength in God. Those who trust in and rely on the Lord are described as truly fortunate, for their confidence rests not on human ability but on divine provision.

The phrase “whose strength is in thee” reinforces that true power does not come from human resources but from a reliance on God. The psalmist emphasizes the importance of recognizing our dependence on the Almighty and seeking Him as the source of our strength. When we place our trust in Him, we receive the necessary power to face challenges and overcome obstacles.

“In whose heart are the ways of them” points to a heart that is aligned with the spiritual journey of faithful worshippers. The wording can be understood as referring to the ways of God, indicating that the blessed individual delights in knowing and following the Lord’s paths. This speaks to the importance of a heart inclined toward God, a desire to walk in His ways, and a genuine devotion and obedience to His commands and principles.

It is noted that the exact wording of this verse does not appear in the King James Version, and different translations may render the passage slightly differently. Nevertheless, the underlying message remains consistent: a blessed person finds his strength in God, aligns his heart with divine ways, and experiences the joy of dwelling in God’s presence.
