Listen to this article

“With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the LORD, the King.” Context:

This verse is part of Psalm 98, which is a psalm of praise and thanksgiving. It encourages the people to praise the Lord for His mighty works and His salvation.

Making a joyful noise:The verse begins by urging the use of musical instruments, specifically trumpets and cornets, to make a joyful noise before the Lord. This emphasizes the idea of worship and celebration through music. In biblical times, musical instruments were often used in the worship of God to express joy, gratitude, and praise.

Worshiping the LORD:The phrase “before the LORD” signifies that the joyful noise should be directed towards the Lord, the King. It emphasizes that this praise is an act of worship and adoration of God. It acknowledges God’s sovereignty and authority as the King over all creation.

The King:The title “the King” refers to God as the ruler and sovereign of all. It highlights His power, majesty, and reign over the universe. As the King, God deserves our highest reverence and worship. This verse reminds us to approach Him with joy and gratitude for His goodness and faithfulness.

Overall, Psalm 98:6 encourages believers to express their praise and worship to God with joy and music. It reminds us of the importance of honoring God as our King and acknowledging His authority in our lives. Through music and joyful noise, we can celebrate His mighty works and offer our heartfelt adoration to the One who reigns over all.
