In 2 Chronicles 7, after King Solomon finished praying and dedicating the temple, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and sacrifices. The glory of the Lord filled the temple, and the people bowed in worship and praised God. Solomon and the Israelites offered sacrifices to the Lord, dedicating the temple with great joy and celebration.
During the night, God appeared to Solomon and assured him that He had heard his prayer and chosen the temple as a place for sacrifice. God promised that if His people turned away from their wicked ways, He would forgive their sins and heal their land. He also warned that if they turned to idolatry, He would bring disaster upon them and reject the temple.
Solomon and the people celebrated for seven days, dedicating the altar and observing the Feast of Tabernacles. On the eighth day, they held a solemn assembly and offered more sacrifices to God. Then they returned to their homes, joyful and thankful for all the goodness God had shown them.
