Acts Chapter 20

Summery

Acts 20 records the Apostle Paul's visit to Macedonia and Greece. After staying in Troas for seven days, he meets with the disciples on the first day of the week to break bread and teach. Paul speaks until midnight, and a young man named Eutychus, sitting on a window ledge, falls asleep and falls out of the window. Paul miraculously revives him and continues preaching until daybreak.

Paul then travels to Assos, while his companions sail ahead to meet him there. From Assos, they sail to Miletus, and Paul sends for the elders of the church in Ephesus. In a heartfelt farewell address, he reminds them of his faithful service, his trials, and his determination to fulfill his ministry.

Paul warns the Ephesian elders about coming dangers, including false teachers who will try to distort the truth. He encourages them to remain vigilant, care for the flock, and follow his example of hard work and generosity. Tearfully, they bid farewell to Paul, knowing they will not see him again.

This chapter highlights Paul's dedication to sharing the gospel and the love he had for the churches he planted. It also emphasizes the need for spiritual vigilance and the importance of leaders caring for their congregations.
