Joshua Chapter 11

Joshua 11 tells the story of a powerful alliance of Canaanite kings who joined forces to wage war against Joshua and the Israelites. They assembled a vast army, including warriors from various regions, to confront the Israelites. However, the Lord reassured Joshua that He would deliver these enemies into his hands.

Joshua and his mighty warriors engaged the Canaanite armies in battle at the waters of Merom. The Lord instilled fear in the hearts of the enemy, causing them to flee. The Israelites pursued them relentlessly, defeating their adversaries and destroying their cities.

The text mentions the destruction of Hazor, the head city of these Canaanite kings. Joshua burned the city, leaving no survivors. The spoils of war and the livestock were taken by the Israelites as plunder, in accordance with the instructions of the Lord.

The chapter concludes by summarizing Joshua’s conquests throughout the land. He captured and destroyed numerous cities, fulfilling the Lord’s commands and leaving no trace of the enemy. Thus, Joshua accomplished everything the Lord had instructed him to do.
