And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.

Context
Jesus spoke these words after John reported that the disciples had seen a man casting out demons in Jesus’ name, but the man was not following them as part of their immediate group. John wanted to stop him. Jesus corrected this exclusivism, teaching that genuine faith and kingdom work are not limited to the inner circle of disciples.
Meaning
“Forbid him not” is a direct command not to hinder someone who is acting in Jesus’ name. The phrase “he that is not against us is for us” establishes a generous principle: those who are not opposing Christ’s work are, in fact, supporting it. This does not endorse false teachers or those who oppose Christ; it addresses those who act in His name, even outside the immediate fellowship.
