Mark Chapter 16

Summery

Mark 16 is the final chapter of the Gospel of Mark in the King James Version of the Bible. This chapter recounts the resurrection of Jesus Christ, His appearances to His disciples, and His final instructions to them.

The chapter begins with the discovery of the empty tomb by three women—Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome. They encounter a young man dressed in white, who informs them that Jesus has risen from the dead. Astonished and afraid, the women flee the tomb and hesitate to share the news.

Next, Jesus appears to Mary Magdalene, who initially mistakes Him for a gardener. Jesus then reveals Himself, and she goes to inform the disciples. However, they do not believe her until Jesus appears to them Himself, rebuking them for their unbelief and commissioning them to preach the gospel to all creation.

The chapter ends with Jesus ascending to heaven and the disciples going forth, preaching and performing miracles in His name. The Gospel of Mark concludes with the assurance that those who believe in Jesus will receive salvation and eternal life.
