Psalms 111:5

Posted on 18 May at 15:13
Listen to this article

“He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant.”

Provision for those who fear God:The verse begins by acknowledging that God provides food or sustenance to those who fear Him. “He hath given meat unto them that fear him.” This statement emphasizes God’s care and provision for His people. It implies that those who have a reverential fear of God and seek to honor Him will experience His blessings and provision in their lives.

God’s faithfulness:The verse continues by affirming that God will “ever be mindful of his covenant.” This statement underscores the faithfulness of God in honoring the covenant He has made with His people. It indicates that God does not forget His promises and commitments but remains steadfast in fulfilling them. The covenant represents the special relationship God establishes with His people, characterized by His love, mercy, and faithfulness.

Application to believers:While the verse specifically refers to God’s provision and covenant with His chosen people in the context of the Old Testament, there are broader implications for believers today. Those who have faith in God and fear Him, approaching Him with reverence and awe, can trust in His continued provision and faithfulness. It reminds believers that God’s promises are sure and reliable, and He will take care of their needs.

Overall, Psalm 111:5 highlights God’s provision for those who fear Him and affirms His faithfulness to His covenant. It encourages believers to place their trust in God, knowing that He will provide for them and remain faithful to His promises.
