Matthew 24 is a chapter in the Bible that contains Jesus’ teachings about the signs of the end times and His second coming. In this chapter, Jesus speaks to His disciples on the Mount of Olives. He warns them about false messiahs who will deceive many people, the rise of wars and rumors of wars, and various natural disasters. Jesus tells them not to be troubled by these events, for they are just the beginning of sorrows.
He further predicts that His followers will face persecution, but they should remain steadfast in their faith. Jesus foretells the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem and gives signs of its impending downfall. He advises His disciples to flee when they see the abomination of desolation, which signifies the desecration of the temple.
In addition, Jesus emphasizes the urgency of His return, comparing it to the days of Noah when people were unaware of the impending flood. He cautions His disciples to be ready for His coming, as it will be unexpected. He concludes by emphasizing the importance of being faithful and watchful, so as not to be caught unprepared.
