**Summary of 2 Kings 11 (KJV):**

2 Kings 11 tells the story of Athaliah's rise to power and the preservation of the Davidic lineage. Athaliah, the mother of the late King Ahaziah, sought to eradicate all potential heirs to the throne in order to solidify her own rule. However, Jehosheba, Ahaziah's sister, saved Joash, her infant nephew and the rightful heir to the throne, from Athaliah's murderous intentions.

For six years, Joash remained hidden in the temple while Athaliah reigned over Judah. In the seventh year, Jehoiada the high priest devised a plan to overthrow Athaliah. He gathered the commanders of the guards, along with the Levites and the people of Judah, and presented Joash as the rightful king.

The people rejoiced and Athaliah was put to death. Jehoiada then made a covenant between the Lord, the king, and the people, pledging their commitment to follow God's commandments. The idols and altars of Baal were destroyed, and Joash was anointed as the new king of Judah.
