Context

Meaning
Here “He” is God, and “him” is Joseph. God made Joseph lord of Pharaoh’s house and ruler over all his possessions. The Hebrew words for “lord” and “ruler” carry the sense of authority and stewardship. Joseph’s promotion was not by chance or his own effort; it was divine intervention. Earlier, Joseph had been a faithful overseer in Potiphar’s house (Genesis 39:4-5), which prepared him for this greater responsibility. This pattern shows that God often uses small, faithful service as training for larger tasks.
