Chapter 30 of the Second Book of Chronicles in the King James Version (KJV) describes the religious reforms implemented by King Hezekiah of Judah. Hezekiah sent letters to all the tribes of Israel and Judah, inviting them to gather in Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover. The king emphasized the importance of returning to the Lord and encouraged the people to unite in worship. Many responded to the invitation and came to Jerusalem, though some mocked and scorned the messengers.
The people assembled in Jerusalem and cleansed the city, removing idolatrous altars and purifying themselves according to the law of Moses. The Passover feast was postponed from its appointed time in the first month to the second month due to the large number of participants who were not yet cleansed. Nevertheless, the celebration was marked by great joy as the people offered sacrifices and praised the Lord. The Levites and priests were zealous in their duties, and the whole assembly expressed their dedication to the worship of God.
